Would you like to be part of the growing global Maker Faire Movement that has been spreading like wildfire with more than 100 events acting like giant magnets determined to prove Einstein’s general theory of relativity, drawing in more than 700,000 punters?
Every year since 2011 on the first Saturday of September, thousands of people flock to the Corn Exchange for the Brighton Mini Maker Faire. It is an inspiring day packed with awesome inventions, breath-taking projects, cutting edge products as well as hands-on workshops from the crafts, arts, technology and maker community in the UK.
Brighton is already known as a hotbed for makers, creators, entrepreneurs and digital ninjas so it’s to no surprise that the biggest and the first ‘Mini’ Maker Faire in the UK was staged in Brighton back in 2011, and it has grown every year since. Our makers and visitors are technology chiefs, key influencers, early adopters, artists, inventors, clever hackers and teachers who love sharing their skills and projects with younger people and the community.
ITV News labeled the Brighton Maker Faire the ‘flagship event of the Brighton Digital Festival’ for a good reason. In the past few years there have been roaming Daleks, robots, DIY musical instruments, 3D body scanning and 3D printing, a mad science lab, a retro computer museum, Virtual Reality demos and much much more… Many projects and prototypes are presented by makers or technology startups to the public for the first time, so you could get a sneak preview of the next big thing.
We have reached millions of people over the years via broadcast, print and online media with approx. 80 media outlets featuring the event every year. Our social media campaigns create 2.5M impressions each year. Media coverage regularly includes: BBC Radio Sussex, ITV News, BBC World Service – technology radio program Click, Visit Brighton, Design Spark, Culture 24, Digital Arts Online, Make magazine, The Argus, Brighton and Hove Independent, etc.
